Training Practice

Training Practice
SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE...

Lane Ends Surgery is a training practice for GP registrars, Foundation Year 2 doctors and undergraduate medical students during placements.

The Practice and the team participate in the further training of doctors, who are already experienced in hospital medicine and wish to further a career in General Practice or those who are still in thier Foundation Year as a Doctor.

The Practice also accomodate medical students from the University UCLAN.

The Practice finds the involvement with teaching with young doctors and medical students as shared learning amongst the clinicians and the practice staff. The Practice has to undergo rigorous assessment by the North West Deanery to be approved as a training practice.

Please note that students, foundation doctors and registrars will always be supervised by a GP during each session they are in the practice.

Recording
RECORDING CONSULTATIONS

The practice trains health professionals, who will sometimes need to record consultations for their education and assessment. These recordings would only be shared with other health professionals and would be deleted after use. The focus of such recordings is to assess the behaviour of the clinician. If they wish to record a consultation, you will be asked before the consultation takes place. It is entirely your choice whether to agree to this and your decision will not affect the care you are given. After the recording you will be asked whether you are willing for the recording to be kept. If you agree the recording will be kept securely, and managed according to our data protection procedures. It will be erased after use, and definitely not kept for longer than one year. If at any time you wish the recording to be erased please contact the practice.
